Los Angeles, California - Top Things to Do and See in Los Angeles | Wanderlist Travel

Let's travel to: Los Angeles, California

In sunny, beautiful California, there is a city that offers a bit of everything you would want to see. From its palm trees and sandy beaches to it’s renowned skyline. It’s true. This is the city of dreams.

  • Griffith Observatory – Feel on top of the world as you stand on the highest level of the Griffith Observatory. The view is spectacular because it looks out at the entire city and you can even catch a glimpse of the Hollywood sign. If you love architecture or can appreciate a beautiful sight, this is a must-see. Every inch of this building was charming and worth photographing, nearly resembling Santorini, Greece.

  • Urban Light Installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art – Remember the movie “No Strings Attached” where Ashton Kutcher is courting Natalie Portman? This was where it all took place. The Urban Light installation is a must-see when you’re in LA. The installation consists of 202 restored cast-iron street lamps from the 1920s and 1930s, which at one point lit up the streets of Southern California. The historic lamp posts are beautiful during the day because you can very clearly see the patterns and designs that are etched into each one, but also breathtakingly romantic at night when lit. Don’t forget your camera!

  • Walt Disney Concert Hall – Surround yourself in a grand space with stainless steel and mirrored panels. You will feel as if you are living in the future (even if it is only for a few minutes!).

  • Santa Monica Pier – The perfect way to describe this is a carnival on a beach with the most amazing scenery. Stroll along the coastline, breathe in the fresh ocean air and enjoy the sound of the waves and live music. It’ll be worth it to stay and watch the sun slowly set.

  • Disneyland – The happiest and most magical place on earth. Walk in with Mickey Mouse ears and leave smiling from ear to ear, but don’t leave without witnessing the most impressive and dazzling fireworks.

  • Larchmont Bungalow – Tucked away in Larchmont Village is this quaint little brunch spot which is a must-try if you’re in the city. They have a patio out front which is perfect for a sunny day (which happens to be every day). The red and blue velvet pancakes? To die for. A soft and chewy inside and crispy outside topped with a cream cheese spread.

  • Boiling Crab – If there’s any city with a Boiling Crab chain, don’t miss out on it! The best foods are experienced with your bare hands and a bib tucked in your shirt. If you can – get your hands on a pound of shrimp, lobster, crawfish, King crab legs each seasoned in the Whole Sha-Bang flavour. Finish off your meal with the best corn on the cob you’ll ever taste.

  • Nobu – Find yourself celebrity spotting at this famed restaurant in West Hollywood. Try the Omakase, the chef’s tasting menu to experience the true essence of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s cuisine with $100, $150 or $200 multi-course options.

  • Oo Kook Korean BBQ – If you’re on the hunt for an AYCE restaurant that offers quality food and service, Oo Kook is Korean BBQ at its best. Plus, they offer $2 valet parking. After dinner, ease the stuffed belly with a stroll around Koreatown.

  • In-N-Out Burger – To satisfy your curiosity on all of the hype, make a pit stop at In-N-Out to try out their burgers and fries (or their “not-so-secret” menu.)

  • Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills – If you’re looking to feel like Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman", this is the place to be. There are lavish designer shops from left to right and corner to corner including Chanel, Valentino, Céline, Prada and the list goes on...

  • Old Pasadena – More fast fashion and smaller boutique shops can be found on this strip. Take time to wander and soak in the old charm to this place.

  • Santa Monica Place – An outdoor open-air mall bustling with tourists, but perfect on your way to or from the Santa Monica Pier.
